Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities, ensuring their academic and social development. Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
2. Plan and deliver instructional activities that address the unique learning needs of students with disabilities, fostering their academic growth and social development.
3. Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and active participation.
4. Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including the use of assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
5. Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and other relevant professionals to ensure effective integration of special education services within the school community.
6. Assess and monitor student progress regularly, using various assessment tools and strategies, and adjust instructional approaches accordingly.
7. Provide ongoing feedback and support to students, families, and school staff regarding students' academic performance, behavioral concerns, and individual needs.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and behavior, ensuring compliance with legal and administrative requirements.
9. Attend and actively participate in meetings, workshops, and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in special education practices.
10. Comply with all school policies, procedures, and ethical standards, promoting a safe and respectful learning environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
2. Valid teaching certification in Special Education (state-specific).
3. Proven experience working as a Special Education Teacher or in a similar role.
4. In-depth knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
5. Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' specific needs.
6. Strong instructional and classroom management skills, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
